future’s child

FUTURE: Presently, and even more so in the future, our world will become more and more accessible, smaller, and more intimate. The video cams on our computers, the Internet and the satellites patrolling the globe have all given us a unique and unprecedented opportunity—to welcome people from far and wide into our lives.
CHILD: Whether it is within the margins of religion, or in spiritual, metaphysical verbiage, we are all “children” of something beyond our parents, as we cannot deny being directly related to this planet, our planet. For me, the significance of this belief is varied. In essence we become like siblings—men and women, boys and girls who share a common good—respecting the tutelage of the ultimate parent, Mother Earth.
FUTURE + CHILD: Two equally important components helping to create the foundation for my career and personal endeavours. My name is Lisa Vitello and in this weekly blog you will learn of my experiences as a cultural anthropologist who covers such topics as travel, media, family and food within a green and/or culturally and socially diverse context.
And thus, I am the future’s child.
